August 2009

On August 20th, 2009, tons of petitions invaded the General Discussion forum pulse.

Origin of the petition frenzy

The whole uproar of petitions started when weirdness created a petition to make the thread "Complete your "get posting" task by posting here" stickied.

Attack of the petitions!

After that thread was made, people began posting petitions like crazy. Here they are in order of creation:

  • Petition to ban petitions.
  • Petition to make Grrritters read more
  • patishun to ban patishuns banning patishuns
  • petitoin to bane petishuns to ban petions to ban p
  • Enough with the petitions
  • Pet it, I on?
  • Petition to make Guen not a mod

The end of the petitions

The petitions died out when Guen's thread "petitoin to bane petishuns to ban petions to ban p" was locked by VKuuumar was locked due to spam, and the "make guen not a mod" thread was locked because it was targeting Guen.
