The Casual Collective (CC) is a casual gaming site created by Grrr and Critters. They are also the game developers. All the games found on the site are their creations. The site aims to combine casual games with the abilities that many social sites offer, such as the ability to shout on other people's profiles, to blog and to join clubs. While registration is a pre, the games can be played as guests as well. It currently features 9 games and has about 80,000 registered members.
History
The Casual Collective was started July 2007 by Grrr and Critters. It first went through a long beta period. People could enter this by registering on Grrr's website that offers DesktopTD, handdrawngames. During this beta MPDTD and Buggle Connect (which was named Buggles back then) were created. Then the Casual Collective launched to the public. It didn't become really popular with a few hundreds of active members, and it was later called an experiment by the creators. During this Casual Collective 1 period the games Attack of the Buggles, Desktop Armada, and Buggle Stars were added.
After a while it was decided that a new website was needed. Sencerd was hired as a web developer and work on Casual Collective 2 started. This was a complete overhaul of the website with new features. CC2 also featured two new games; Minions, Farragomate and an updated DesktopTD 1.9. It was launched at the end of 2008. Later added was the game The Space Game.
