Template talk:News

Please don't make this a place to promote just the Minions Cup. Best is to have varied news and not always have Minions Cup in it imo. It is fairly non-interesting to have as news: 1v1 cup starting, 2v2 cup starting, 3v3 cup starting, 4v4 cup starting. --Pino 08:47, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Tweak the layout?
The layout could be made more readable, although I'm not entirely sure how. Using a table could be a good start, e.g.
| April 18 | • | Purple Day! |
| April 1 | • | DesktopTD Pro released |
Also, using month names (or their abbreviation) instead of the short numeric notation would be more easily understood by non-Americans. -- Yourm0m 16:28, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- Good suggestion. I changed it. --Pino 08:04, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
...News are old news?
I came to add the yet-undated MCV tourney to the Upcoming events when I noticed that Pino moved the upcoming AAMC tourney from News to Upcoming. Since it was empty until now I thought that Upcoming was for undated events until they get a date and can be moved to News. If News only contains past events then shouldn't it be renamed? Something like "Recent events" perhaps? Also, we should move it down. Upcoming events are more important that past stuff, not to mention it keeps both categories in chronological order.
I'll move Upcoming up, and leave Pino to decide what to do with the "News" title. -- Yourm0m 10:30, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- I think it is a good thing that you swapped news and upcoming around, it is more logical this way indeed. Isn't news however per definition something that has happened? Something that is coming up is not news, because you know it will be happening. So I think news is the right name, but maybe it is different in English and I am thinking too Dutch. --Pino 12:18, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
