list of names

That list is not really useful, but I suppose the Wiki is a useful place to keep such a list. Maybe create something like List of new name suggestions or something? It disrupts the article a bit like it is now. --Pino 10:27, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Done. Thanks for suggestion! --Luckymustard 22:02, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

dicussion about multiplay

I believe that because Critters put much time and effort and the game looks like it will require you to keep playing it consistently, that it would be much much better if you could at least put the long work of consistently playing to the test against other people. Then you could get more than self pride but bragging rights and a reward maybe for tournaments.

Backyard Monsters

how do we go about changing the name of this article? what about it's link on the main cc wiki page? --Luckymustard 20:25, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Done and done. You can rename pages by clicking the "move" tab on the top of the page (which I have done). I have also updated the link on the Main Page. ctzmsc3 21:21, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

The thumbnails are broken. Help? - eaglgenes101 05:58, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Yea, I tried informing sencerd on that, but haven't heard anything yet. Will try if I can reach him again sometime. --Pino 09:47, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Fixed images, just upload them as png. --t2t2 Talk 18:32, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Let's make an overview pic

I got an idea; we create a picture containing all buildings, their levels, their upgrade costs, benefits, and required levels to unlock. This allows people to get a quick overview on everything and see how it works. It will be quite a bit of work though, and I have not yet thought of all the details. I will give it a first try using my poor image editing skills and see if it has any future. Else forget about it ;-). --Pino 19:56, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Here is the basic idea: http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/7278/initialfail.png. It would have to
  • look better
  • show what buildings do and in what quantity (ie. production level)
  • show what build limits there are per building (ie. can't further upgrade until townhall is bigger/limited number of buildings of a kind). This has to be shown in some intuitive way, without too much need for explanation.
  • have all buildings in it (that is quite a lot, actually).
  • Have more levels. I suppose some buildings can be upgraded endlessly, so then we can show the first 8 levels or so, then calculate the formula for further levels and show that above it.
So basically that is quite a lot of work and in order to make it doable, if we want to do it, we should start smart not just go crazy without thinking in prior. Maybe it would be better in SVG format, because that is theoretically more easily edited. Does anyone think this is a feasible plan and useful? --Pino 20:19, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
Maybe we could start off by collecting all statistics in a spreadsheet, like Google Docs or something that is more accessible? --Pino 20:27, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
How about collecting them on Backyard Monsters statistics? --ctzmsc3 18:08, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Alpha or Beta?

Continuing something I saw somewhere else, is Backyard Monsters in Alpha or Beta? The page says Alpha, but someone said the game says Beta... --Menace13 05:54, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

It was me yes, but I found back the Beta reference: "The game is in the early stages of BETA and as such you may, well will, encounter bugs. Please report them in the Discussion board." I think that is enough reason to call it Beta, because that is what is mentioned on the Facebook description. Alpha is only mentioned in the Credit section, which simply has been unchanged for quite a while. --Pino 08:18, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Alpha versions is sometimes named pre-beta. This game is currencly Alpha, so earlier was pre-alpha or pre-beta. --PLkiller таιĸ 13:15, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, but that makes absolutely no sense. The BM webpage simply says the game is in Beta, so then it is, right? How can it not be what it says to be --Pino 16:17, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Who is Garrick?

On the CC he is a level 5 who's been offline for weeks.

Did he really make the graphics? --Zodiac 04:37, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Yea he did. I based it off this message: " Good morning BYM fans! Many of you have commented on the great looking buildings in our game, so much so that we have decided to start releasing the designs as sketched by our very talented artist Garrick. You can view the first 4 sketches here:". But just like Will Harbin who certainly is CEO I am not sure about their CC name (not even of his real name in this case). So he might not be named Garrick on the CC. --Pino 06:24, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
