Minions on Ice, or MoI, is a multiplayer spinoff game of Minions in which players try to beat each other driving around small robots on a slidey terrain. There are three different game types, deathmatch, race and sumo, with various objectives. It is created by Grrr and is currently in open beta (playable by all registered members). Unlike Minions it is a non-teambased game.

Gameplay
Minions on Ice takes place on a giant ice rink, not involving towers or minis like its predecessor. It can be played with 2 to 12 players and offers a selection of any of the eight original Minions to play as. Minions on Ice is not team based. Since the game is played on ice, the challenge is attempting to kill opponents while controlling a unit on slippery terrain. This makes it much more fast-paced than normal Minions.
The host can choose out of three different game modes. In deathmatch, the goal is to reach a certain kill count before anyone else does. The sumo mode consists of a circular platform; the goal is too push others off. In racing mode a track has to be completed numerous times as fast as possible, killing others to slow them down.
Units in Minions on Ice do not have the same abilities as they do in the original Minions. Instead, powerups spawn on the ice rink throughout the game. Powerups are held in slots and can be selected for use with the mouse cursor or by hitting the 1,2 or 3 keys on the keyboard. Each minion has one powerup by default, plus one or two slots to pick up others.
During gameplay, players have the option of choosing the "manual" or "automatic" mode. In automatic mode, skills that require targeting will be automatically used on the nearest enemy when selected through the number key or mouse. In manual mode, when such a skill is selected, the cursor turns purple and the skill will be used on the position of your next click.
Maps and modes
There are five maps available; two deathmatch, two racing and one sumo map. The deathmatch maps are Eleven and Polo. These are very similar. They are a squared field with very few obstacles. The difference is that Polo is slightly bigger as it is meant for more players. The racing maps are Figure 8 and Twisty. Twisty was the first racing map created during beta. It is a large track with lots of corners (hence its name). Because during beta it was considered slightly dull, not seeing many enemies most of the time, a smaller race map was created. This is Figure 8. It is a small eight shaped map, where players may meet halfway the lap in different directions. For Sumo only one map exists; named Sumo as well. This is simply a round track. The only map where people may die by falling off, which is the objective of the mode.

Ranks
As players progress they also get a higher rank. The rank is bound to the experience one has. These are the ranks available. They are seen on the scoreboard in game. In the open beta, the rank Plucky was used for a short while instead of Cool. It has been confirmed that when one fills up the exp bar entirely, the rank epic is obtained. Judging from very small pixel movements the rank epic is possibly obtained at or around 1 million exp.
