History of the Ink Tower
The Ink Tower was first available in DesktopTD 1.5. Unlike the other towers, it had a minimum firing range. Unfortunately, the first creep that passed within its firing range was likely to avoid the subsequent ink blob the tower fired. Still, the residue from the blob could hurt the next few creeps in line. Unlike the Ink Tower of today, the Ink Tower fired only slightly faster than the Dart Tower and was therefore very weak. At its highest, the Ink-Blot Tower had 300 damage, 70 range, and costed 500 gold. The intermediate upgrade steps cost 75 gold except the last, which was 125.
In DesktopTD 1.9, the Ink Tower's firing range became a cross. It fired much more quickly but did less damage than its previous version. However, it was extremely expensive. The Ink-Blot Tower of version 1.9 is the same as that of the Pro version but cost [a lot] gold.
Much to the relief of many DesktopTD players, the Ink Tower in DesktopTD Pro only costs 480 gold. It is otherwise the same as its version 1.9 counterpart.
The Ink tower was later added to Desktop Defender with stats slightly more like its orgignal and the cross removed.
