General questions
What is the Casual Collective?
The Casual Collective (CC) is a site that combines casual gaming with social networking.
How can I join?
Simply click register on the website. For more info check out this.
It won't allow me to see the site, it's just a blank white page. What do I do?
Refresh the page. If that doesn't work, close the window and open it again. If that doesn't work, restart your PC, Mac, etc. If that still doesn't work, we don't know what to do either.
What are the advantages of registering?
There are a whole lot of reasons to become a member. You can create and join clubs for example, get yourself an avatar, buy extras and blog on your own profile page. you also get to play public beta games and talk with other members.
How do I become a beta tester?
Unfortunately, you can only become a beta by being invited by one of the Mayors. And it's best not to ask them, people are picked for being excellent members (helpful in the forums, popular with other members etc) or at random using scripts, people who ask do not get :)
How to add a friend?
Go to the friends tab. Search for the name, then move your mouse over the arrow next to the user's name and click "Add to my friend list".
How do I join a Club?
There are two types of clubs, public and private. To join a public club, just go to the club page, and click the green "Join Club" button near the top right. To join a private club, you must be invited. Once you are invited, go to your notes tab and click the "Accept" button on the invitation.
Whats the Purpose of a Club
Well it's mainly to chat about the topic of the club. For example the club "Help and Support" is there to Help and Support your needs and questions.
I found a bug!
You can send a Personal Message (PM) to Critters, Grrr, or Sencerd with details about the bug or problem.
The site doesn't display properly in my browser. What's wrong with it?
The vast majority of the time, the problem is that the user has changed the zoom level of the browser (for instance, with ctrl-mouseup). To reset the zoom level, type ctrl-0 (control-zero).
Beyond that, most site display problems are due to the computer/browser/installation of the user having the problem. If you would like some help diagnosing your particular problem, please be prepared to supply some information so that others can try to help you out:
- Screenshot of the issue *
- Browser type & version *
- Computer OS/patchlevel *
- Zoom level in browser *
- Plugin/Add-on types & versions
- Browser cache status (cleared, normal) *
- JavaScript settings
- Content-filtering settings on plugins and/or firewall/proxy
- Proxy type and settings
- Firewall type and settings
- Anything you attempted to solve the problem, and the results *
Items marked with a * should be considered required information.
Once you have collected as much of this information as possible, you can post in the Help and Support club. The more information you provide, the more likely it is that someone will be able to help you.
I changed my avatar but it doesn't appear in a game lobby!
That's because of two things: the lobby doesn't use avatar URLs with version numbers in them, and your browser keeps a cache of images it's already loaded (so that it doesn't need to ask for them again, saving both you and the server time and bandwidth). Because the main site uses different URLs for each changed version of an avatar and the game lobby doesn't, it means that your browser doesn't think to get the new copy of the image because it doesn't know it's a new image. To solve this problem temporarily, clear your internet cache.
The answer to my question is not on this page?
Search for it in the Help and Support club (the text entry box followed by a "search" button). If you can't find it, make a topic in the "Help and Support" club on the website. This allows for people to help you to solve your specific problem or question.
CC Radio questions
How do I become a DJ?
CC Radio DJs generally go through an application process. You can find the application instructions in this thread. The DJ application process may be affected by:
- Your reputation on the Casual Collective. Not having one means that you are an unknown quantity, and having a bad one means that you might not be very responsible.
- The amount of legal music you have. If you are on-air once a week, and have to repeat songs every month, you probably don't have enough music to create a good show.
- The likelihood that your show will be different from what already exists. Variety is the spice of life.
It doesn't matter how old you are, only that you are responsible, have a variety of music, and can follow our rules. The application process sometimes takes days, and sometimes takes months.
My CC Radio doesn't work! What should I do?
In short, close the radio pop-up window and re-open it until it does work.
The Casual Collective Radio bubble appears above the main tabs when a DJ is casting a show. When you click the LISTEN button, a popup radio widget should appear that will give you the show title, information about what has just been playing, and a DJ feedback form. You can also mute or adjust the volume.
Sometimes the radio widget has trouble connecting to the broadcast server. When this happens, you only see "Connecting..." instead of a count of how much audio data has been downloaded. If this doesn't change within fifteen seconds, you should close the radio widget and re-open it from the LISTEN button.
If doing this a few times doesn't help, please go into CC Radio chat and let the DJ know. If everyone is having the problem, the DJ may be able to reconnect to the radio system.
Casual Credit questions
What are Casual Credits?
Casual Credits are the currency of the Casual Collective. They are used to buy extras for games or for the website. Comonly known as CC's
How does one obtain Casual Credits?
Casual Credits must ordinarily be purchased. This may be done through Paypal, as well as via other methods. Go to Store in the upper right of the main site, then click the Add Credits tab. A small number of Casual Credits may also be earned as awards in the game Attack of the Buggles, though they may not be sufficient to purchase anything by themselves.
At various times, Casual Credits may be granted through third party offers. When these offers are available, they may be accessed through the Earn CCs tab in the Store. Some offers may involve installing third-party software or giving up personal information. Some users have reported malware infections from software installations. Caution is recommended. Casual Credits should be credited to your account a few hours after you have completed the offer.
What can I buy?
Among the many items you can buy are:
Do I have to buy?
No, you do not have to buy. However, buying extras can improve your gaming experience.
I completed an offer - where are my credits?
Upon completing an offer there usually is a slight delay (5 to 15 minutes generally) before your credits are awarded. If you do not receive your credits after 15 minutes, there is either an unusually long delay or you did not complete the offer to the satisfaction of the third party that provided the offer. Note that the Casual Collective is not responsible for any problems that might arise from the offers (like viruses or delays or not working offers) as the offers are provided by a third party service. A good bit of advice is to copy and paste the final page's text in to the the appeal box.
Leveling questions
What are levels?
Levels are a way to show how experienced a player is with games. The more one plays, the higher the level one has.
How do I level up?
You can level by playing games (you get most for multiplayer games).
Can my level drop?
No, your site wide points never go down, although each player has a hidden ELO score that determines the number of points you recieve, and this may drop. The more it drops, the more points you will get if you win, so losing sometimes is actually better than winning all the time.

I am not logged in?
First verify you are level 20 or over. Then head over to casualcollective.com, press logout and login using again. This should log you into the wiki too. In case this works, but you get logged out very easily, check your browser's cookies settings.
If this does not work, it is likely you have had your name changed. Unfortunately you can no longer log in to the wiki then. Bug Sencerd to get it fixed :P.
If neither of these two things works for you, please give a shout in the "wiki" club.
