Flash Element TD (FETD) is a tower defense game by Critters. In this game the goal is to prevent creeps from passing through a maze by killing them using towers. The game is no longer hosted on the Collective (it was in Casual Collective 1) and was originally created as a Warcraft III fangame.

Throughout years two versions have been created. These have different maps, towers and creeps. The newer version of the game is logically named Flash Element TD 2. In many aspects it is a very different game, but some gameplay elements are still the same.

Gameplay

Like other tower defense games, the object of the game is to build towers along the maze to defend from incoming creeps. The creeps go through the path in the map and the players can build towers on the ground to kill them. The players can build towers and research something while the creeps are incoming or the level is done. When the creeps pass through the path, the players lose a life and golds corresponding with the reward per creep. The creeps keep going through the path until they are all killed, so the players may lose a few lives by ONE CREEP if they let the creep escape. After all the creeps are defeated, the level is done and the game pauses until the players click the 'Next Level' button. If the player lose all their lives, the game is over.

There are two resources in the game, golds and woods. The players can earn golds when they kill the creeps. Rewards of the creeps are shown when the levels start. Golds are used to build towers. The players are also able to earn a life when they costs 40 golds. After players finish the level, they earn interests in certain rates(initially 10%), so saving golds is a good strategy to get more golds. The players also earn a wood every 7 levels. The woods can be used to buy elements(water, fire and earth each) or research to increase the interest rates by 5%. Each of them cost a wood. Each element unlocks certain towers and can be upgraded only once, but the players can increase interest rates several times.

There are seven towers the players can build.

Basic towers (The players can build them without any elements)

1. Arrow tower : They are basic towers attacking both ground and air creeps. They attack only a target per hit and very fast fire rate with wide range.

2. Cannon : They are towers attaking only ground creeps. They deal stronger damage with wide ranged splash damage than arrow towers. However, they have narrow range and slower fire rates (but it is still fast).

3. Air tower : They are towers attaking only air creeps. They attack only a target per hit and deal good damage against air creeps. They have very fast fire rates and wider ranges than arrow towers.

Elemental towers (The players require to buy an element to use them.)

4. Water tower : They are unlocked when water elements is bought. They can attack both ground and air creeps with moderate damages with splash. They can also slow a targeted creep except 'immune creeps'. They have narrow ranges and significantly fast fire rates.

5. Fire tower : They are unlocked when fire element is bought. They can attack both ground and air creeps with strong damage with splash. They have wide ranges but slow fire rates.

6. Earth tower : They are unlocked when earth element is bought. They can attack only ground creeps with very strong damage. However, their fire rates are extremly slow, making them almost useless towers. They have wide range.

Combo towers (The players require to buy all of three elements)

7. Rocket tower : They are unlocked when all three elements are bought. They can attack both ground and air creeps with EXTREME damage. They also have epic range but they lack splash damage and have slow fire rates.

Also there are some special creep types. Level 6, 13, 19, 26, 32 creeps are fast creeps which moves faster than other creeps. Level 8, 17, 27 creeps are air creeps. Level 10, 21, 32 creeps are immune creeps which do not slow. In addition, level 11, 22 and 33 creeps are boss creeps which are strong creeps appearing alone.
